March 1st
Reception at SUNY Brockport on Volunteerism and Civic
Engagement
(hosted by the Department of Social Work)
5:30-6:30
pm,
New York Room of Cooper Hall, SUNY Brockport
Followed by a lecture
by Fred Newdom of the Social Welfare Action Alliance.
CP Rochester will be tabling with fliers, sign-up sheets, and
CP gear. Please stop by!
March 8th- International Women's Day
CP Rochester will be celebrating International Women's Day
by
holding a peaceful demonstration
5:00-6:00
12 Corners in Brighton (in the center
park area).
The theme is Women as Mothers, Sisters, Daughters,
and Wives/Widows
(of soldiers). All are welcome, so bring friends, kids, and
significant others. Please try to arrive early so we can be
there for the
after-work traffic! AND PLEASE WEAR PINK, as
there is nothing quite so visually shocking as a great
big sea of pink!
*We need help making signs next weekend in downtown Rochester.

March
18th- 3rd Anniversary of the Iraq Invasion CP Rochester
will be meeting at the Liberty Pole in downtown Rochester
for
a demonstration and march at 4pm with several other groups.
Wear pink and represent! Bring signs as well. April 29th
Mass Mobilization by United for Peace and Justice.
Mobilizations/marches will be going on around the country, similar
to what we saw last September during the 3 Days of Action. I
have been talking to the CP NYC coordinator about the East coast
groups converging in New York city on that date. I would really
like us to send a delegation there on that date! If that doesn't
work out, Plan B is to have our own march/rally here in town.

May 14th- Mother's Day
CP Rochester will be doing an action in honor of Mother's
Day. More info posted soon.
May 29
CP Rochester will be hosting a combination art installation ("Let Them Eat
Cake") and vigil. More details to be posted shortly.

30-31st - Democratic State
Convention, Buffalo, New York
CP Rochester will have a presence at the convention to
tell Hillary Clinton "no more war"!

Writers, we need CP Rochester to help get the
word out on a number of issues, especially the
depleted uranium story. Let's
put our message out there! Email

Three Days of Action
in Washington DC
CODEPINK was part of this historic weekend, which marked the
gathering of thousands of anti-war protesters marching
on the White House.
Chanting "money for levees, not for wars", Thirty-Six
CODEPINK women wearing their reasons to end the war were arrested
in front of the White House. Cindy Sheehan, wearing a picture
of her son, Casey, was the first to be arrested.(view
